Field Trip

My second day on the job was a little bit easier as I began to get the hang of things. I am still only learning general information about RevBuilders and our clients.

I read through several articles, blogs, and news posts that our copywriters had submitted and submitted them for editing. Not a glorious task, but it helps me to understand what type of writing needs to be done for each outlet and even individual clients.

One of my main tasks while I am here is to revise and update our PR media contact list. That means making sure that all of our contacts are still in the position of news and making sure we know what kind of news they cover. I research them online and even read some of their writing. After I do this, I will contact the person and verify all of their information. The purpose in doing this is so that RevBuilders can get the right news and press releases to the correct source to make sure that the information is shared.

Tamara and I took a short field trip today to Developmental Optometry Services. Here we visited Dr. Tod Davis and his office staff. We took pictures of the staff at their new office on Heritage Hunt Drive. These pictures will be used for Developmental Optometry’s website, their Facebook page, future blogs on RevBuilders, and an upcoming brochure.

Today one of our copywriters emailed in with trouble finding information about a company that she was to write an article about. I assisted her in some research and contacted the company regarding more information on the subject. I enjoyed researching the company and their involvement in the community.

I think my favorite part of the day is writing this blog. I feel accomplished when I can look back and recap everything that I have done in a day. It helps me to prioritize my tasks and get my thoughts in order for the next day.

See you tomorrow.
